Project 2 up is a new kind of interface we’ve created to help you find solutions to issues that you may not have thought were related By allowing you to browse and view two posts simultaneously.
This guide will walk you through the basic functionality . Click next to continue.
The 5 display modes are located at the bottom center of the page. In the primary display mode ( currently selected in white ) splits your screen and half letting you focus on 2 posts equally.
As you can see, by clicking the “Focus L” Button the left post becomes larger.
And by clicking the “Focus Far L” button the left post takes over most of the screen.
On both sides of your screen you’ll notice an arrow. Clicking on that arrow opens a drawer associated with the post currently being displayed on the same side.
Inside each drawer you will find recent and/or popular posts on the site. If a post is currently loaded on the corresponding side the drawer will also show a list of posts that might relate to the current post being viewed.
Clicking on any of the links will open that post on the same side as the drawer.
You can click and hold this icon, drag it over to the panel you would like it to load in, then release your mouse button to “drop”.
TIP: When dragging a link in this way spinning graphic will appear to inform you that you are dragging.
This icon indicates whether or not there is a link between the 2 articles being displayed. If there is already a link between the 2 articles a “…” will be displayed. Clicking this icon will open The center panel and display a description of why the two aarticles relate to each other as well as comments about the relationship.
If there is currently not a link between the 2 articles a “+” will be displayed. Clicking this icon will open the center panel and allow you to add a link with an explanation of why you believe the two current articles are related.
To “reset” the system to the default loading screens you can clicking the “Reset” button located at the bottom right of your screen. Clicking reset will refresh the page ignoring the last 2 articles you were viewing.
This concludes the tutorial for using our 2up system. Please note that this is a beta release so there may be some glitches. Thank you for your patience while we work to finalize the system.
